Cottage renovation

This cottage renovation demonstrates how strategic project management and thoughtful refurbishment can unlock significant value from an existing property. I managed the project from concept through to completion, coordinating the design, planning, procurement and construction phases to deliver a high-quality renovation that enhanced both the character and functionality of the home.

Careful cost control, programme management and attention to detail ensured the project was completed efficiently while maximising the property's market appeal.

As a result of the renovation, the client achieved an increase in value that generated approximately £80,000 in profit, highlighting the commercial benefits of a well-planned and professionally managed refurbishment.

Derelict public house to 17-bedroom HMO

This project involved the complete transformation of a derelict former public house into a high-specification 17-bedroom en-suite House in Multiple Occupation (HMO), creating safe, modern and compliant accommodation from a building that had previously fallen into disrepair.

I was appointed to provide a comprehensive end-to-end project management service, taking responsibility for the project from initial concept through to completion. This included feasibility assessments, project planning, design team coordination, procurement, programme management, contractor oversight, budget control, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and stakeholder management throughout the development. I worked closely with architects, engineers, local authority departments, contractors and the client to ensure the project remained on programme, within budget and was delivered to the required quality standards.

The result is a fully refurbished, purpose-built HMO comprising 17 en-suite bedrooms with high-quality communal facilities, delivered in compliance with current Building Regulations, HMO licensing requirements and fire safety standards. The before and after images demonstrate not only the physical transformation of the building but also the value of proactive project management, effective collaboration and meticulous attention to detail in delivering a complex residential conversion successfully from inception to handover.
